The Service

All things really do work for good.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

They may have had the service of the year at Thorncrown Chapel. They prayed, they cried, they rejoiced. All cups were running over. It was a service and a feeling none present will ever forget. Just a tired bus load of church people from Pensacola, Florida.

Occasionally someone would say, “Now we know – now we understand.” Understand what?” I asked. “Our bus broke down,” they said. “We sat on the side of the road near Jasper, Arkansas all day yesterday in a steamy bus. At times we felt we could take it no more. Our schedule was destroyed, and when we arrived, we heard about this little chapel and decided to come here. This had been worth many days on the side of the road.” And then I understood the scripture they had been repeating: All things work together for good to those who love God.

Once again I had been reminded that life is good when we follow God’s simple truths.

Thank you, Lord, for the plans you have for us. May we stay close to them, and they will make our lives a thing of excitement and joy. In Jesus’ name we give thanks and praise.
